About Artist Loran Israel Frair
Loran I. Frair is a talented artist from Auckland, New Zealand, who recently moved to Seattle, Washington. He attended the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland, where he obtained his fine arts degree. Loran's passion is to create stunning works of fine art that are captivating, exciting and imaginative. He paints classic portraits as seen in his profile image, as well as creating different styles of abstract art.
In other words, Loran takes fine art to the next level with a unique style of painting that he calls Abstract Dimensional Expressionism. Not all of his works are ADE, but those that are feature intricate, multi-colored fine lines over rich, thick layers of enamel and oil paint on canvas giving the artwork an attractive matte and satin finish. On the same canvas, Loran may include various styles of painting reminiscent of Rothko and Pollock to name a few.
Using these techniques, Loran applies paint to the canvas in two distinct and separate ways. One is the application of paint directly to the canvas using brushes like most artwork is created.
The other involves the positioning of his brushes and painting utensils just above the canvas as it lies flat on the floor. Dipping his painting utensils into various cans of paint, myriad colors flow down in stunning configurations as Loran maneuvers around the canvas sometimes in a trance-like state. Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" and hallucinogenic mushrooms come to mind. There seems to be a Cheshire cat hanging around that pops in and out of reality saying, "Glad to meet you. Would you like to see the White Rabbit?"
Loran applies paint around all four sides of the canvas using an abundance of colors and textures, as he engages in dance-like rhythmical movements while listening to Amadeus. Loran's artwork has been compared to Abstract Expressionist painters Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko.
Loran's evocative style of painting is notable for its stunning beauty employing bold, vivid colors. Painted on canvases up to five feet in length, his works are bright, colorful and imbued with passion. One or more of Loran's original works would make an excellent addition to your fine art collection.
